Oliver has a broad practice, with a focus on public and administrative law, common law, and criminal law. He appears in all federal and state jurisdictions (including inquiries and coronial inquests) and maintains a busy advisory practice, particularly with respect to judicial review and appeals.
Prior to his call, Oliver worked as a Senior Associate at Clayton Utz, where he regularly appeared in the Federal Court of Australia, the Federal Circuit & Family Court, the Administrative Appeals Tribunal, and the ACT Supreme and Magistrates Courts. He has extensive experience advising clients in the public and private sectors with respect to matters of public law, civil liability, and information law.
Oliver’s mentor during his reading period is Andrew Tokley KC; his alternative mentor is Robert Kane.
