Peter Healey joined the Independent Bar in 2023 after 10 years as a solicitor, first at Minter Ellison and then Cowell Clarke Lawyers.  Prior to joining the Bar, Peter was recognised on the Best Lawyers list in South Australia for Labour and Employment Law.

He has a particular passion for employment and industrial relations litigation involving restraints of trade, search orders and injunctions, breaches of director and employment duties, wrongful termination and unfair dismissal, general protections and discrimination, sexual harassment and bullying, wage theft, interpretation of awards and enterprise agreements, workers compensation, defamation, coronial inquests and workplace deaths, disciplinary and regulatory processes, dust disease, and royal commissions. He has extensive experience in investigations including WHS incidents.

Peter accepts briefs in most areas of civil and commercial law including property, defamation, insurance, personal injury, professional liability, wills and estates, and administrative law.

Peter has studied negotiation and dispute resolution at Harvard Law School in Massachusetts, USA and at Pepperdine University in California, USA. He is a fellow of the Straus Institute of Dispute Resolution.
