Andrew English has practiced primarily in the field of criminal law for 31 years both as a solicitor and barrister. He has extensive experience as counsel in all criminal courts including higher court trials and appeals.

Andrew was Manager of the Criminal Law Practice Division of The Legal Services Commission of South Australia for 7 years (2012-19). He held a position on the Board of the Legal Services Commission as Staff Commissioner from 2009 – 2015. Andrew has also worked in private practice, as a prosecutor with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (State) and as senior counsel with the Aboriginal Legal Rights Movement (Inc).

In addition to criminal law Andrew has a strong interest in sports and entertainment law. Andrew is currently the Vice-Chairman of the South Adelaide Football Club and a Director of the Southern Football League. He is the SANFL Tribunal Advocate for the South Adelaide Football Club.
